Yes it’s dear, but then again, this is one of Sony’s all time best prime lenses. If you are going to spend, we think a 35mm lens is a good choice.

Weather-sealed and featuring fluorine coatings, this is a lens made to be used.
35mm focal length, bright f/1.4 aperture, class leading coatings, powerful focus motors – this lens is a street and reportage photographer’s dream.
Paired with an 85mm (G Master, why not) you have all you need for event photography (weddings, ceremonies, launches, etc…).
Although it does show some focus breathing, the linear focusing and well-dampened ring make for smooth focus pulls while recording video. The de-clickable aperture ring is a plus!
Focus real button on lens can be reassigned to other controls.
